VideoCells Announces Agreement with Italian WAYS S.r.l. & TeleVideoCom S.r.l.

VideoCells, a leading global provider of WebVR®(Web Video Recorder), hosted video security solutions, announced today, July 14, 2008, that it has signed an agreement with WAYS S.r.l., a leading distributor of digital technologies and software solutions to the Italian Market. VideoCells’ recurring revenues from Italian operations via WAYS’ customers are estimated to reach US $10 million within three years.

VideoCells’ platform will allow WAYS and its customers, including Eutelia and Televideocom, to offer Italian retail chains, SMEs and residential customers, a value-priced solution for hosted security cameras, with or without surveillance services.  

WebVR® is a patented platform designed to intelligently manage, store and distribute video content over IP networks. WebVR® was developed in three years by a team of experts in the fields of video, communication and storage. The platform uses advanced Oracle RAC (Real Application Cluster) technology and is installed on IBM servers (both IBM and Oracle are technology partners with VideoCells).  Its capabilities include mass storage, retrieval of video from various sources, and transcoding and distribution (streaming) to multiple device types.
