VideoCells Releases WebVR Version 4.2

Patented Platform Designed to Deliver Video Surveillance and Recording
Over the Internet

Hod Hasharon, Israel - March 9, 2010 – VideoCells® Ltd., a leading provider of web-based video surveillance solutions for security monitoring companies, telecommunications operators, and ISPs, today announced the availability of WebVR® (Web Video Recorder) version 4.2, introducing enhanced capabilities to its carrier-grade surveillance platform.

WebVR version 4.2 features include:

  • Plug-and-play camera support.
WebVR now supports plug-and-play cameras, enabling end users to connect IP cameras seamlessly to WebVR while eliminating all aspects of network configuration such as port forwarding or DDNS (Dynamic DNS) settings.

  • Image snaphot support.
This new feature enables the capturing and saving of images from live or recorded video streams sent over the Internet.

  • Easy-to-use reseller installer.
VideoCells produces installation packages according to the reseller’s needs. Each package is comprised of a specific number of cameras and users. The new reseller installer can choose a package and install it, without having to configure camera parameters, since they are all pre-configured by the package.

  • New reseller API.
The new reseller API enables resellers of WebVR-based services to build their own custom video management applications that use WebVR as their web-based video streaming and recording solution. With the new API, WebVR further expands its reach as the platform of choice for launching advanced value-added services.

  • Support of video loss notifications.
WebVR supports sending email/SMS notifications upon detection of video loss from the camera. This provides the necessary camera tamper detection and real-time alerts upon network and electricity malfunction, thus maximizing system reliability.

Further to its new features, version 4.2 includes dozens of enhancements in the product's underlying technology that increase the product's scalability, making WebVR the most cost-effective platform for mass-market deployment.

"WebVR's highly scalable architecture provides support for hundreds of thousands of concurrent cameras that stream and record video in real-time," said Stuart Steinberg, CEO of VideoCells. "It's this flexibility that enables service providers to seamlessly increase their user base by offering an affordable video surveillance solution to the mass market."
